The staff that checked us in was exceptionally nice. We stayed in a well furnished and nicely decorated room with toiletries, the bedroom and coffee. Dinner and breakfast food was gorgeous. Had central location close to the bus station. And it was also so close to Kendal centre, Kendal, which is the gateway to the Lake District and a ferry to catch.

Great-looking rooms and the breakfast was delicious. The bathroom was nice and they had a good selection of teas. The staff were really helpful. The food they had was amazing and there were plenty of meal options to choose from. 😊

Fantastic spot for my Easter getaway! The room was really nicely decorated and modern, everything looked super clean and well-maintained. The staff was always friendly and welcoming, which was a big plus 😊.

The hotel's location next to Kendal was convenient. The bus station and town centre were just a short walk away.3. The nice surprise of Café Charlie's Cafe Bar located 10 km away was a great find.

The hotel is in a great location near the Lake District. The staff is welcoming and provides excellent service. The breakfast offered plenty of food.

The proprieter is genial and enabled me to resolve the situation after the first night that I had booked into his establishment that was unsuitable for my needs and my expectaions.

My own lack of experience of booking directly on line lead me to making a very disappointing selection of accommodation. The Sonata Guest House was accredited with four stars, but such accreditaion has no connection with what might expect with a hotel of similar status.The price quoted on the web site was nearly identical to that of a three star hotel in the same town in which I had stayed before but which was declared 'full' on the web site.I Did not call the hotel direct to check but later found out that the hotel was not full and I was able to stay there the following night.The Sonata offers a perfectly satisfactory 'one star' level of accommodation. Four stars it is not! The following night, at the hotel I moved into, I enjoyed dinner with wine, a six foot bed with ensuite bathroom, peace and quiet from traffic noise and street lighting and bedding that was appropriate for the temperature of the room. The cost was the same as my previous night's stay at the Sonata on bed and breakfast only terms! I admire the proprietor's ability to get away with charging these prices but the lesson was on me. Buyer beware.

The guest house unit was spotless and immaculate with a sparkling bedroom, and provided tea and coffee. The location was incredible, just a short walk to Sonata and the town center. The check-in process was perfect and it was easy to get to Proper Northern Yoga.

The location of Sonata Guest House in Kendal is very handy and perfect. The vegetarian breakfast was superb, especially the coeliac toast and real Lakeland butter.

The staff was very helpful - we would stay here again. Well furnished room which had a work desk, coffee/tea makers and TV. All food at the vegetarian breakfast was good. It had a handy and perfect location - close to The Box.
